Helios Hong is a freshman at Harvey Mudd College studying physics and computer science. In PoSM Lab, he works on computational and theoretical models for understanding the recoil dynamics and material properties of quasi-linear viscoelastic materials. He is broadly interested in active matter, soft materials, and how matter can retain memory of past forces, deformations, and environments. Outside the lab, Helios plays bassoon in the Claremont Concert Orchestra and Pomona College Orchestra and is involved in the Mudd Amateur Rocketry Club. He hopes to continue exploring the connections between physics, computation, biomechanics, and materials research.
